How it works…
Beginning the process of having a 'Moving Memoir' film made is deeply rewarding and enjoyable. Throughout the process, you can sit back, relax, and enjoy the experience, confident that your story is in good hands.
It all starts with a friendly and informative consultation where we discuss what you hope to capture in your ‘Moving Memoir’, and which of the services may be most suitable for you.
Step 1: Pre-Interview Consultation
As part of the process, Moving Memoirs provides you with a questionnaire designed to gather important background information on your story. The questionnaire covers topics such as family history, major life events, personal achievements, and memorable experiences. Whilst filling out the questionnaire, there will be an opportunity to share any special photos or other media which you may want to include in your film.
Step 2: Questionnaire
On a day that suits you best, we will come out to your home and film the sit-down interview with you. This takes usually between 2-4 hours (including set-up, interviewing, and pack-down). The ‘Moving Memoirs’ team ensures you are comfortable and at ease throughout the whole process. All you need to do is sit-down and share.
During this time we will collect any photos or memorabilia that you may want included in your ‘Moving Memoir’.
Step 3: The Interview
It takes us approximately 6-9 weeks to finalise the edit of your ‘Moving Memoir’ interview. This is because we use our professional grade editing skills to showcase your story, and ensure the essence of your story is captured. We also enrich your story with the addition of heart-warming music from professional sound artists around the world.
Once the edit has been completed, you will be provided the opportunity to review the edit before it is finalised. This ensures that we have aligned all photos appropriately, and to give you the opportunity to adjust any of the edit.
Step 4: The Edit & Review
Once your ‘Moving Memoir’ has been completed, you will be provided a shareable link to the completed film, as well as a link to the unedited interview. You will also be provided a customised USB stick sent in the mail for you to keep.
Now all you need to do is invite loved ones around to gather, and share the experience together of your life and legacy now captured on film.
